What makes up a Periodically Inspired BOSTON coffee cup?
★ B. Boron is found in the common mineral borax, but is rarely seen in pure form.
★ O. Oxygen makes up 21% of the atmosphere, and is what you breathe in to survive!
★ S. Sulfur is one of the few elements found pure in nature. This "native" sulfur is probably of volcanic origin. Also called brimstone, it oxidizes and is responsible for the characteristic smell of many volcanoes.
★ T: There is currently no "T" element! Periodically Inspired has assigned the letter "T" to the element "Founded", with the atomic number "9" for September (sorry Fluorine), and the atomic weight 1630 for the year Boston was founded.
★ O. Oxygen makes up 21% of the atmosphere, and is what you breathe in to survive!
★ N: Nitrogen is a common element in the universe, estimated at about seventh in total abundance in our galaxy and the solar system. Colorless nitrogen gas makes up 78% of the atmosphere! Liquid nitrogen is great for making ice cream and preserving wine.
